how to acclimatize my aquarium fish? Floating fish bags is important

Welcoming your new Fish

What to do when your fish arrive:

Carefully remove your fish from the esky.
The polystyrene box can be washed and repurposed.
You may find a sachet of “sand”. This is a heat pack which can be discarded.

Check the fish. If there is anything you are concerned about, please take photos.
It is a good idea to have a quarantine aquarium set up to recieve new fish with cycled water and plants. Sometimes the stress of travel and new tank mates can reduce the fish's immunity and they will get sick. We are vigilant about sending healthy fish, however, occaisionally, they'll have a very rough trip.

It is normal for the fish to look quite pale; they will colour up once they settle into
their new home.
If your exisiting fish have strong territories it can help to add plants or decor to help the new fish establish their territories.

Fish need to be acclimatised to changes in water temperature and chemistry.
Please start with a mature, well-conditioned aquarium.
We recommend Pisces Aquatics COMPLETE Water Conditioner.

1.  Float sealed bag in your aquarium
for five to ten minutes.
This will equalize the water temperature.
2.  Open the bag and clip to side of tank, allowing fresh air in. Pour some tank water (approx. half the bag water volume) into the bag and leave it for an additional five to ten minutes.
This will adjust your fish to the parameters of your aquarium water.
3.  Your fish has now been acclimatized!
4. Pour the bag water through a net over a bucket, and gently place the fish into their tank.
5. Any questions? Take photos and email The Fish Farm
