Step by step guide to introducing Snails to your Aquarium

Welcoming your new Snails
What should I do when my snails arrive?
Please start with a mature, well-conditioned aquarium.
We recommend Pisces Aquatics COMPLETE Water Conditioner.
Carefully remove your snails from the esky.
You may find a sachet of “sand”. This is a heat pack which can be discarded. (In wintertime)
Snails may take 24-36 hours to "wake up" after their journey.
Mystery Snails breath air so they will arrive in a bag with no water.
Snails need to be acclimatised to changes in temperature.
1. Float sealed bag in your aquarium for five to ten minutes. This will equalize the temperature.

2. To give them the best possible start, (especially if you have a deep aquarium) float the snails in a small plastic bowl, on the surface of the water, with water to cover them.
This will allow them to easily get to the surface to breathe some air when they wake up.
They may take 2-3 days to wake up. Ensure that your fish do not nip at their soft bodies.

3. When they wake up allow them to move into the aquarium.

Watch the fun as they clean your aquarium of detritus, algae and waste.
Enjoy your new snails and happy fishkeeping
